Hope you have a lovely holiday season, James, and a very happy, healthy 2010!
Love your trove of carnivorous specimens... I was interested to learn about the dormancy period for various species. Have no personal experience growing any of these fascinating plants.
All best, raising a glass of bubbly in honor of 'lostlandscape'
xo Alice

EE, I'm so glad you're posting so many pictures of your plants in the wilds. With so many South African species in the Southern California landscape vocabulary, I appreciate the opportunity to see them as they grow in nature.

Stevie, unfortunately we don't have any species native to near me, though there are a number in the rest of California.

Oooh - Great photos. I have a sundew too and I love it. The one I have is a native to Vancouver Island (which is near me) - and it's just great at catching little flies that came in with the herbs when I bring then indoors for the winter.

Had a photo of our sundew, at home on the mountain in a recent post. (Someone downloaded the picture, but of course I don't know who)
